How your sound is made

Your date of birth

Enter the day you were born, and whether your chart should be read as male or female — the tradition draws the two differently. That is all we need.

Your chart becomes music

An Eastern birth chart reads the balance of five elements in your nature. Each element has its own tone in the traditional Japanese scale. Your balance decides which tones sound, how strongly, and where the silence falls.

Listen, and breathe

Beneath the melody flows a slow, wave-like pulse of water, paced like calm breathing. Most people find their own breath gently settling into it.

The Method

Your chart is drawn using Sanmeigaku (算命学) — a school of birth-chart reading rooted in ancient Chinese five-element philosophy and refined in Japan. From the day you were born, it maps the balance of five elements in your nature: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

We use it for one thing only — to know which tones are yours.

The tones themselves come from Japan: an ancient five-note scale that has sounded in Japanese temples and shrines for over a thousand years.

Only the tuning is ancient — the music itself is quiet, contemporary, and made for rest.

OTO is a one-person studio in Japan. The one behind it is not a composer, but a working researcher — someone who has spent years studying how sound affects the living body. The name stays off the page, by choice. It is the sound's job to convince you.

Is this fortune-telling?: No. The chart tells us which tones are yours — nothing more. We do not predict your future; we compose your present.
What do you need from me?: Your date of birth, and whether your chart should be read as male or female — Sanmeigaku draws the two differently. Nothing else is required.
Can I gift it to someone?: Yes — a birth sound makes a quiet, personal gift. You will need their date of birth and how their chart should be read, and we will prepare a gift-ready delivery.
What will I receive, and when?: A 15-minute and a 60-minute version of your sound (WAV + MP3), with your Sound Notes — delivered by email within a few days. Each sound is composed individually, which is why it takes time.
Who makes my sound?: Every sound is made in Japan by OTO's founder — not a composer by trade, but an active researcher who has spent years studying how sound affects the living body. We keep names off the page; the sound should speak for itself.
What happens to my data?: We keep only what we need: your date of birth, how your chart is read, and your email address. We never sell or share them. If you ask us to delete them, we will.
